The Popgun Seven, a horn-fueled dance band made up of ska band ex-patriots, escaped soul rebels and assorted pop refugees, came together in May 1997. Six months later they released their first collection of songs, a DIY introductory eponymous EP, to rave reviews across this country and Europe. Ink from sources such as Billboard, Relix, and the Italian giornal? Buscadero, peg Popgun as a fun, up-lifting musical experience that crosses a swinging brass section with a finger-popping ska and reggae-influenced pop band.
From the ski resorts of wintry New England to Duvall Street on Key West, The Popgun Seven continue to bring their unique brand of multi-styled rhythms to groovy people. More than just a band with a horn section, The PopgunSeven are an integrated unit where everyone gets into the act--inviting the dance floor before them to do the same. The bands mission: hipping people to their solid sound rooted in traditions from such seemingly diverse sources as The Tramps or The Clash. The Popgun Seven love what they do and want to spread the fun around.
